In North Korea, the church is being persecuted. Thousands are killed, many more are tortured and torn apart from their families. Chung-Cha's family is also swamped into the wave of torture by the government. This is her story of survival and her letter to her daughter who she is afraid she will never see again.
What I loved about the novel that it takes you to another part of the world and displays how others are living. This book makes me thankful to live in America and for the many blessings I enjoy each day.
